If you haven’t already, you should definitely check out the first episode of Husbands Season 2.
The episode opens on Brady and Cheeks waking up on the morning of their three week anniversary. Cheeks tweets a candid photo of them kissing, which instead of being a “nontraversy”, sparks outrage, phone calls from agents and a call for Cheeks to be “less gay”. Hmm.
Husbands has embraced a longer format, with the episode running for close to ten minutes, and thanks to a highly successful Kickstarter campaign have improved the series’ locations and image quality. However, despite the changes in length and picture, as always the charm of the show lies in the banter, nerd-alert references and quick dialogue which are back in full force this season. I’m not sure I can shoehorn the phrase “mish state verbait” into conversations, but dammit I’m going to try.
If you needed any more convincing (really?), there are also a ridiculous amount of cameos, including a bunch from all over the Whedonverse including Emma Caulfield, Dichen Lachman, Amber Benson and Joss Whedon himself.
Clever writing, conversations with dogs, and an uncanny knack to entertainingly cover an hour’s worth of material in an almost unbelievably short amount of time. Watch Husbands.
